For the dating woman seeking to find a love, writing an online profile can be a daunting task.  It’s hard to figure out what to write about yourself; you don’t want to be too revealing, but you want to paint yourself in the best light and sometimes it just gets frustrating and you almost feel like giving up on the whole online profile.  So what do you do?  First of all, you make sure you write your profile on a good day when your outlook is positive.  If you write the profile on a day when you’re down and out, you might tend to come across as more desperate that you really are.  Of course you are very eager to meet someone special; that’s why you are choosing to write an online profile, but you never want your desperation to seep across the screen to a potential date.  It’s very unattractive and won’t get the responses that you want.

As a dating woman seeking, you need to realize that there is a science to this dating relationship scene.  The top three things that a man needs are respect, encouragement and sexual relations.  A woman needs a listening ear, an understanding heart and to be cherished.  If either of you in the dating relationship do not have your needs met, you will be unsatisfied and look outside of the relationship.  As a single in the dating seeking world, you need to realize these key factors in regard to our differing needs as males and females, because it will help you better understand and relate to each other.  This understanding begins at the start of the dating quest.

So, take this understanding into the room with you when you go online to write your profile.  You want your profile to be memorable.  You need to write the profile from the man’s perspective.  That’s right, ladies, it’s time to forget about using the right side of your brain and start using the left side, at least just for this instance.  Remember the three key needs that a man has.  Write your profile to be geared towards what he wants out of a dating relationship.  On a side note, regarding the sexual relations need, don’t go too into detail about what he wants to hear on that subject; you don’t want to give him the wrong impression.  Basically, you need to think with the left brain as you write your profile and don’t be your emotional womanly self.  Writing with your emotions can be a good thing, but not when you’re trying to attract a man.  He understands facts and figures, not emotions.

Make sure you are representing yourself in a correct light.  Remember, the guys think in facts and you need to describe yourself as you really are.  Don’t be worried that you won’t get any responses to your profile.  It’s better to get little to no responses than to get a response to a profile that you wrote which is not truthful.  What will you do when he wants to meet and you have lied in your profile.  There’s no point to lying, especially not if you expect to find a love with a long-term commitment.

Don’t air your dirty laundry in the profile.  A guy that is scanning profiles for a dating prospect does not want to read about that, much less meet you.  Those are the details that can be aired when you are more emotionally invested in the relationship further down the road.  Men like to fix women’s problems when it comes to being in a relationship and she needs something done around the house or with her car.  Men don’t like to fix the emotional problems.  That’s why we can more easily vent to our girlfriends.  Emotional sentimentality is a learned behavior for the man in the relationship and even then, he’s not very good at it; because he’s not supposed to be.  That’s a woman’s job.  Remember, women and men are different creatures.

Make sure you sound like a fun loving, interesting individual; like the type of girl a guy would like to date.  He wants to have fun, not get into all the emotional details, at least not right away.  Don’t be pretentious.  Be down to earth and be genuine.  Explain your likes and dislikes and don’t be afraid to describe your physical appearance.  It’s a fact, ladies, the physical appearance is important to men.  That’s a fact of life.  So, don’t dwell on it, but state the obvious and then get to the more important aspect, like what you do for fun.  Get some excitement in your profile and be memorable.

Don’t forget that there is a difference in online relationship services.  There are online dating services, like eharmony and match.  There are also online matchmaking services like www.vipsingles.com and www.seekingmarriage.com.  The former sites do not screen their members like the latter sites do.  The latter sites are professional matchmaking services and specialize in locating a compatible match for you.  Remember to be safe in your online dating search.
